About Giridih

Giridih District was created on 6th December 1972 from its parent Hazaribagh District. Stretching between 24° 11' North latitude and 86 °18' East longitudes, Giridih spans across area of 4853.56sq km. Deoghar and Jamtara enclose it in the north and Jamui and portions of Nawada district of Bihar in the east. Dhanbad and Bokaro border Giridh in the south while Hazaribagh and Kodarma district are its western neighbors.
